This week I received a call from the Westchester C

This week I received a call from the Westchester County Center (which is where Operation Prom has its permanent residence) that they suffered 3 feet of water on the ground floor (aka basement) from Ida, and that I should come take a look at our space. Well, while it pains me to share, the important thing is that these are just “things” and no one got hurt.
We lost every garment we had. Prom dresses, tuxedos, bras, shoes, handbags - thousands of items, gone. It’s ok, we will start from scratch. In 18 years, we hit some bumps, and this is just another one to get over.
I am sad that these items never found a home, that our team of volunteers and interns worked so hard to organize. That these donations were from people who wanted to make a students prom dream come true.
With that said, the team at the County Center has helped tremendously and once we can get back into the space we will begin collecting again. I will, of course, let you all know when we start! Thank you for your continued support to @promnationalnetwork @prom914 ❤️

The teams at all the OPNN locations hope you & yours are doing well. While this was not the prom season we had hoped for, we are hopeful for our next season. We appreciate all the calls and emails about making formalwear donations, but at this time we remain closed. The summer months are usually our “down time” as we prepare for the upcoming school year.
